Hi Everyone,

AllOfAus would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your passionate and inspirational participation in our national conversation, AllOfAus. Your comments and thoughts on what makes Australia great were invaluable and we hope that you managed to get a copy of “Our Spirit” magazine, containing many of your valued comments and perceptions regarding Australian attitudes. The project is now wrapping up, and that means our community pages will become silent.

As many of you would be aware, the AllOfAus project was a community project proudly presented by Qantas. So we would like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to you to visit, explore and join in the conversations that are underway around other Qantas projects.

Qantas are proud sponsors of the Australian Socceroos, and supported the team through their qualification for the World Cup South Africa 2010. Another article on the AllOfAus discussion on Australia’s national dish has been published in the mX newspaper.

We also received great results from the survey we sent out to AllOfAus participants. The results show that 96% of respondents enjoyed their AllOfAus experience, and 85% feeling that it would be valuable for the project to continue in the future.

Many AllOfAus submissions show that we mostly like that Australia is geographically isolated from the rest of the world. However, the downside of this is the late nights from watching live events from around the globe.

There will be a lot of tired Australians at work today after watching the Grand Prix and the Ashes last night. Our Facebook and Twitter followers were all very eager to congratulate Mark Webber on his win last night – the first Australian Formula One victory since 1981.

In other AllOfAus news, there have been some recent articles published in the WA news and in Cooking Down Under online about the Spirit of Australia that is being uncovered through AllOfAus.

We’ve had an influx of fantastic submissions on AllOfAus recently. It’s great that lots of Australians are getting involved so we can end up with the true spirit of Australia.

Despite being the middle of winter, the ‘beach’ is still one of the most popular topics mentioned. Perhaps people are just dreaming of warmer weather – or do they really go to the beach in the cold?

There is a new feature on the AllOfAus site as of this morning. To help inspire people, there is now an option to view several popular Australian quotes and use these as the basis of your submission.

Ebony from Sydney used the quote “I like that each state or territory has something that they’re famous for” as the basis for her entry. To read her submission click here.

Great news for sports fans… the Socceroos just jumped to #16 on the FIFA World Rankings! Well done to the boys, they are definitely a part of the Australian spirit.

The daily updated question on AllOfAus is generating lots of responses. However, we are still also receiving some great comments to our general question “What makes Australia great?”.
